Detailed 1/72 scale assembly required plastic model kit of the Kawasaki Ki-100, a World War II era single-seat fighter aircraft of the Imperil Japanese Army (IJA). This Fine Molds 1/72 scale assembly kit depicts the Ki-100-1-Ko, with the raised "razorback" rear fuselage and this kit comes with illustrated assembly guide and waterslide decals for the 59th and 244th Sentai of IJA. ABOUT THE KI-100: Designated as the Type 5 Fighter by the IJA, the Kawasaki Ki-100 was developed to intercept the high altitude American B-29 Superfortress, and it performed well in that role. However, the Ki-100 turned out to be more than a high altitude bomber interceptor, as its outstanding maneuverability made it an fearsome adversary against Allied fighters, including the formidable P-51D Mustangs and the P-47N Thunderbolts which were escorting the B-29 raids over Japan by that time. Over 300 Kawasaki Ki-100 of all variants were built from 1945 until the end of World War II.
