This is a Tamiya 1/48 Scale assembly and painting required plastic model kit of the World War II era Russian heavy tank IS-2 (Iosif Stalin - 2), a variant of the IS tank. Commonly called the JS tank, the IS series tanks were named after Soviet leader Joseph Stalin (Iosif Stalin), hence the Russian designation IS. Model kit features: Kit features highly detailed exterior with individually molded suspension arms, multipart wheels and sprockets, link-and-length track with accurate 'sag', sloped front glacis, cast texture turret and hull, external cylindrical fuel drums, individually molded on-vehicle tools and equipment, optional position loader and cupola hatches, commander figure (posed for placement in open cupola), filigree turret handholds, metal hull weights and nylon cord tow cable.
