One of the most heavily armored and armed tank of the Second World War, the King Tiger tank was fitted with 150 to 180 mm thick frontal armor and the deadly 88 mm main gun, which could knock out all Allied tanks at a range well beyond the effective range of enemy guns. The King Tiger's Achilles heel was that it was prone to mechanical problems. The King Tiger's massive 68-ton weight placed a lot of stress on its engine and steering system, and the heavy tank also guzzles fuel, which made it difficult to support during combat operations.
